Me and my work

I investigate the impact of diet (ie fish oil) and exercise (ie swimming) on the lung (ie asthma) and somones ability to exercise.

I began working as an applied sports scientist workign wth international sports teams traveling the world for tournaments and competitions however I now spend more time working in the lab with more health related topics. I still work with elite athletes and regularly speak to indivduals and teams about dietary supplements and training strategies.

My Typical Day

Early morning exercise (tai chi – run – weights) computer work (email and admin) afternoon in the lab (hopefully) then back to the office before going to train (martial arts) in the eve.

What I'd do with the money

I would use the money to support a research project for one of my students.

I have students conducting research all through the year and it all costs money. I would use the £500 to buy some newer equipment or some new chemical assay kits that would help the student carry out a better project.
