Although I dont work with athletes all day or week, as I am self employed I feel guilty if I take too much time off – especially as I can always find something to read or study when I have spare time.

This weekend I was up at 4am on Sunday to go to an Ironman competition on Exmoor as I had a client who was taking part – that wasnt fun! But I am sure he didnt want to have to swim a mile in a freezing lake that early either.

But then I will probably have a bit of spare time during the week – when I try to visit friends or go to the gym etc.

Technically we are supposed to work a normal 37.5 hr week….but…..if you want to do research then you simply have to work more than that….so…..i work both saturday and sunday most wekends. not full days every day but at least something on both wekend days. its hard but it makes the weekends i do get off all the more enjoyable.

It varies a lot, but I generally work at some point most weekends. I work best in the early evening so I generally aim to arrive at work after 9 am and get home after 7 pm.

Like the others, i’m contracted to do a standard working week but it never works out like that, i don’t mind though as i really enjoy what i do. Sometimes i’ll be out volunteering with the learning disability group till late, or spend a whole day wioth them like last saturday, but it’s great fun!!
