I think for me the most boring part of what I do is all the paperwork I have to do each year to prove that I am keeping up with my training, and am working professionally – I have to submit quite a lot of evidence about what I have been doing and it takes a long time to do.

The actual work I love and never get bored of because it is so varied. At the weekend I was up at 4am (aggh) to work with a triathlete who was doing an “Ironman” race, then I wrote some articles for magazines, did Im a Scientist, have worked with another couple of athletes (a weight lifter and a long distance runner) and met a group of people who are interested in being more active to lose weight.

Paperwork and administration is boring, science itself rarely is. Wading through a lot of data without an end in sight can grind you down, but you always have in the back of your mind that it will soon answer an important question.
