*edit alert*!
Just realised I misread the question. I will now answer the actual question in such a way that *nobody will ever knowMATOMO_URL Here goes:
I like running in my spare time. I once ran two marathons in a weekend which was taking it a bit far. I also study what makes people good at running and why you slow down when running/cycling/swimming really fast, so my work is also my hobby and that’s why I love it.
See, nobody noticed did they? Did they?! No, good.
LOL Mark! Yes, the edit button will be my friend through the next 2 weeks!
I really like what I do too – I am not a really sporty person, but I am fascinated by our thoughts, emotions and behaviour – which is what we study in all areas of psycholgy. I had another job before this one, and it got really boring, didnt challenge me and I wasnt proud of what I did. So, when I was 30 I went back to uni to do a diploma and then a masters in psychology, so I am making up for all those “lost” years and loving it.
I love what I do but as I am self employed I sometimes miss having colleagues and people around me who I can talk to about my work. That’s why doing Im a Scientist is such good fun, as Mark, Jenni, Stu and Martin are almost like colleagues, bouncing ideas around.
Yes, most of the time. Sometimes deadlines can make it a bit stressful, and there are times when I get a bit bored of watching a machine, but I thrive on the stress and just put a movie on in the background when watching the machine gets too boring. (there aren’t many jobs where you can do that!)
Generally, I love what I do, especially teaching my students and discussing new ideas with other scientitsts. Definately more interesting that being a banker or an office worker!
