Yes and no. Yes because landing on Mars is nothing technically different from landing on the Moon so it is possible. No because there are all sorts of other problems that put a stop to people trying (prolonged space flight, and the physical effects of muscle disuse and the effects of solar radiation – it is likely that most of the astronauts will contract some form of cancer trying to get to Mars), and the difficulty of surviving on Mars and subsequently returning. Put simply, the mission would take at least 6 months to complete and carrying enough oxygen and food to complete the mission is implausible. So my final answer is no.
