I don’t think that there is an “average” person these days – so many of us have pretty lazy lives – thanks to office jobs, computers and the internet, and cars, we often dont need to move much during the day.

Athletes obviously work out and train so much more than “normal” people – but something halfway between totally lazy and elite athletes would be good. It depends on time and money too of course.

I like to recommend between 30-60 minutes of reasonably intense exercise (something that makes you huff, puff and sweat) 5 times per week. This gives a couple of ‘rest days’, and is something that most people should be able to find time for. Finding things you enjoy is important as you are more likely to actually DO those things
