• Question: is an infection that causes zombies possible in any way?

      I dont think that right now there is an infection that could cause “the living dead to feast on brains”.

      There are some drugs that can put someone in an emotionless, trance-like state (a bit like a zombie) although the person could still do basic tasks. But they won’t want to eat brains.

      Also, a study has been done where scientists created some “mutant mice” – changing their brains so they weren’t able to process the brain chemical serotonin (that helps keep us calm). Without serotonin keeping them calm, the mice starting being very aggressive toward each other and other living things. So, in humans, if we ever lost the ability to produce serotonin, perhaps we would start being too aggressive – but whether we would want to each each others’ brains, I’m not sure!
