• Question: what is the quickest way to lose weight?

      It is first important to know whether you need to lose weight, a rule of thumb is that a body mass index of 25 or more is unhealthy although BMI can really vary and its not the only way of checking.

      Losing too much weight too fast can put a strain on the heart and any diet that promises really fast weight loss is probably unhealthy (because it cuts out so many food-groups) and something you couldnt do for long anyway (so any weight you lost would come back once you went back to normal eating).

      Ideally we should all eat a healthy balanced diet, and do regular physical activity, exercise or sport, which helps us maintain a healthy weight. If you need to lose a lot of weight its always best to check with a doctor first about what type of diet and exercise are best.

      I did hear the other day that if you eat only raw food you will lose a lot of weight because our bodies are well adapted to absorbing nutirents from raw food. Problem is you lose it too quickly and willbe very poorly.

      Losing weight quickly is very rarely a good idea as it’s more likely to come back when you go back to normal eating. Much better to eat heathily, and have a healthy lifestyle and lose weight gradualy.

      I will confuse everybody now and say the fastest way to lose weight is to eat more food !

      No this is not a trick answer.

      If you eat less food you slow down your metabolism and your body starts to store food (ie fat) much more easily. Obvioulsy if you just eat more food you will ultimately put on weight but eating more food allows you to do more exercise and the combination of exercise and proper nutrition is proven to be the best, healthiest way to lose weight and keep your body at a healthy level.
